I'm sorry if this is way off topic (and I know I'm slow, lol.. sweat)
But is it true that Yah Yah Yah was disbanded??
I saw it on another JE forum.
*akira shock*
I'm sure there were lots of politics behind it, but I was always rooting for them to debut.  sad

Yep, they're gone. Since Hikaru and Yabu were recruited to Hey!Say!, Shoon and Taiyou were left stranded. Shortly after the new Hey!Say! group was formed, Taiyou left Johnny's altogether. So now Shoon is all alone. Haven't even seen him in magazines recently, he might've left as well. I don't know.

Makes me sad because I really hate Hey!Say with a passion and really liked Ya-Ya-yah together. :[

No, Shoon is definitely still featured in the magazines and especially on Shounen Club, where he probably has more screen time now than when he was in Ya-Ya-Yah. But yes, sadly Y3 was a casualty of the Hey!Say!JUMP experiment.

It is also widely believed to be because of a very obvious uchiwa protest over the "death" of Y3 on Shokura, that uchiwa were promptly banned altogether on the show. There were many unhappy people.

I mostly miss the Y3 TV show. It was good old fashioned Johnny's fun. The various new HeySay shows are absolutely horrible.

Yamashita Shoon, on the other hand, continues to be a popular search engine topic, if our blog stats are anything to go by. I think his day is still coming.

A lot of us were complaining for a few years that Shounen Club was not the show it used to be, and I think the Jimusho were trying to manufacture a whole new strata of popular juniors with they HeySay thing, but it was all a bit "just add water". I am actually really enjoying the current shows where ABC and Kisumai are getting more screentime.

I was wondering what other people think about Shounen Club, either in the past or the current shows.

Shoon is definitely getting more focus now that he's not just a backdancer for Yuba and Hikaru (aka "the goats" due their postal segment on Shounen Club). Things looked a bit of a worry at the time HSJ was announced, Taiyou quit and Shoon was missing on SC for a few shows.

But he's back and getting way much more attention. He's often found in magazines on a page with his brother, Reon, and most recently he was in 'Full House' on stage with other jrs including Kazama and Machida. And that also had a fair amount of magazine coverage, in the stage mags as well as the idol ones. He's also a huge hit on the Jr League segment of Shounen Club these days. He's funny and quick and has been overlooked for way too long.

The whole Heisei thing cuts Shoon out completely though. Heise started January 1989 (we're currently in Heisei 20) and Shoon was born Dec 1988. So Johnnys need for something nauseatingly "cutesy" left him out in the cold anyway. (Still it's one thing to be a debuted artist and another to never get your head on screen for more than 2 secs at a time because there are 10 of you, and you're tall, so you're always in the back.)

I was very worried for a long time that Shounen Club might have been handed over to HSJ and that would have been a total tragedy. Not only for the loss of Koyama and Maru, but the way energy and entertainment is drained from a room just by HSJ entering it. It seems some things don't change though and once last years season ended (in March) the new season of Shounen Club has gone back to featuring Jrs more. ABC, Kisumai and Shoon - much more entertaining.

The HSJ thing seems to be floundering, unless their only purpose in life is to turn up and sing songs at volleyball. Then I'm sure they've met all their career goals.  lol

Ahh, so Shoon is still around. I did see that bit about him being in Full House. Made me happy. "He still has a chance~~" I think Johnny is more willing to give parts to "stranded" juniors because Touma came back full force. :]

Azuki: Yeah, I really hate them too. ~_~ But I'll just leave it at that since there's no hating on other groups in this forum! XD

Loonykat: Hey!Say!7/BEST are subgroups of Hey!Say!JUMP. Sometimes they split for photoshoots and stuff like that.

Yah, I feel the same way as you about Hey!Say!  I thought Yah Yah Yah deserved to debut more, either them or ABC at least, because they both were groups for lot longer.
I just didn't think they would disband Yahx3, but instead perhaps add in a few new members...or have members be part of two groups like Nishikido Ryo.
I was just shocked...hadn't ever heard that before..but don't really pay attention to much Jr news.

Thanks everyone for clearing all this up for me!
